Adventures in South Carolina

I know it's been a really, really long time since I've updated the website. And I'm here to let you know what I've been up to since. What I thought was going to be a bad situation, considering I was living in SC, turned out to be something really special. I played weekly at a place in Sumter called Brewers. I also frequently downed many BudLights there. I became friends with everyone there which was a good thing. Wondering what the best thing was though? No not winning the open mic thing, that didn't concern me, cause I really didn't feel like I won. I was definitely shocked as hell when Bill Eaker announced it. No it had nothing to do with the Air Force either...come on, you know me better than that don't you? It was meeting 2 dudes named Nick and Jay. Known as Novella before, Nick and Jay were an acoustic combination unlike any other. But for some reason they felt something was missing. And that something was Philly V. I joined the duo and it became a trio. But I warn any trees, parking lots and sprinklered grass patches: Do Not Get In Our Way! We will break you by climbing to the top of you and hanging down. Or we will profusely throw up on you (yea that was me). Or we may even run full speed for a whole 20 yards before slamming on top of you and sliding. You've been warned.

We also play music together. Nick on lead vocals and rythm guitar, Jay on crazy pedaled lead guitar and back-up vocals, and yours truely bangin on the bongo and putting my 2 cents in on the back-up vocals as well. The funny thing is that as a musician you think that your first band will be a stepping stone to a better band until you find you niche. But Novella is my niche. I've played with other musicians in jam sessions and stuff but never really got with them to collaborate anything serious because I really wasn't fond of their music that much. Novella is different because even when I first heard them I thought they were awesome and could be so much more if certain things could happen for them. And it's my promise that I will work my ass off to make sure something good happens for these guys... for us. You can check us out at NovellaMusic.com. There's also a link for it right here on PhilVilleza.com. So what are you waiting for? Get your ass over there. Peace!
