Melissa and Pat
The fun began before I was even in EST (eastern standard time). Joe and I met in Houston, had a shot and a beer before
boarding, then started putting a dent into the Early Times whiskey he brought. Instant fun, though I did have to
continually ask the guy sitting in the aisel seat to get up so I could pee...I'm sure that got annoying (for him).
Needless to say, by the time we got into West Palm, we were well on our way. Waited for the kids to get back from the
rehearsal dinner before getting into some serious drinking. Strolled over to Ocean's Eleven a dive of a bar near the
hotel. From there, your guess is as good as mine as to what happened. I just know Pat and I walked home and I passed
out.
If you want to know the definition of big pimpin' it's rolling in a stretched hummerzine. Which is exactly what the
fellas of the wedding party did for the ride to the church. It was seriously dope. Took a quick detour to the local
Publix to pick up more champagne and what else but fried chicken. And don't think for a second the stereo wasn't
as loud as it could possibly be bumpin Def Leopard's "Pour Some Sugar On Me," because it was. Yadda, yadda, yadda, they
got married. Kudos to the bridesmaids. Wow, simply amazing. Anyways, at the reception I introduced what I like to call
"The Jaeger Plan." It's kind of like FDR's "New Deal," but different. Basically it's a jaeger bomb every 30 minutes. It's
nice. But the bar ran out of jaeger so that soon stopped. By then the reception was just about over, and people were
starting to scatter. Skinny dipping, getting kicked out of the hot tub a few times, free beer, lots of us ended up at
Ocean's Eleven again. Excuse the run-on-edness. Basically all the dudes. The girls kind of brought it weak. So we did
the guys night out thing, had an arm wrestling tournament (I came in a surprising 2nd place), and talked to some
strippers. Nothing of significance happened (ie none of us got laid).
Sunday everyone was leaving...oh yea, except me. I had a Monday night flight because my supervisor thought Monday was
President's Day. Anyways, we hit the dogtrack. Jeff, Tac, and I bet on the dogs and Joe, Zach and Alex went for the
Texas Hold'em tables. Zach was the only winner, though I did win on one of the races. After that we found me a hotel
to spend the night and everyone else went on with their lives.
What a great time. Two more weddings this year, but I'm not sure I'll see any of the same people that I saw at this
wedding so who knows when I'll see them again. Somehow we always find a way, so I'm confident that will happen again.
Congratulations Pat and Melissa on a successful wedding I know everyone had a great time and we all wish you the best.
