My So-Called Tour

Basically it was just a lot of driving. But I did play music a few times. And the times I did absolutely blew my mind. Starting first in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with Nick Jones of Novella. The crowd was basically the wedding party that Nick brought but that didn't stop us from rockin like we were playing Red Rocks. Being on stage with him again was so much fun. We kicked some new tunes and some old favorites. All in all a pretty money time.

The next stop was the big apple for a little open mic action at the Baggot Inn. Carey was able to attend with a friend of hers from Columbia (the University not the country). I wasn't very impressed with the other musicians. I went in thinking that everyone (except me) was going to be amazing, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. There were a couple good ones but that's about it. The highlight of my 2-song set was definitely the "Senorita" melody thrown into "Life at 23." I think anytime you throw in some Justin Timberlake it's like sprinkling gold pixie dust on it.

Doc Watson's in Philly was the setting for the next open mic. The caliber of musicians was about the same as in New York, but the cool thing about DW's is that they also have comedians. I thought that was very interesting. This was definitely the best crowd of the places I played. It's always nice when people come up to you and want to talk about how they dug your music. Especially since I'm just some wannabe.

Unfortunately those were the only musical stops, sans a private performance for J-co and Karen in NC. I also stopped in Dayton, Ohio to chill with my homie Zach. Yo send me my cd's back! Alright, that's about it.
