A Wedding in Paradise

A wedding is the perfect time to go on your first cruise. Great friends, love is in the air, free food and tacky shirts. But, my good friend, before we get on the boat there's the bachelor party to think about. Now granted it wasn't the standard 10 dudes going to a strip club type bachelor party, but nonetheless it was monumental. It was the three amigos, me, Shock, and of course our bachelor, Colie. The location was downtown Galveston, a surprisingly upbeat party town with really great bars, but probably the type of place you don't appreciate if you live there...like a lot of places. What I remember most about the night wasn't all the drinks or girls we talked to, but kind of those movie moments we shared, when the lead characters think back to the great times they used to have and look ahead to what it'll be like being all grown up. Very cliche, I know, but that's just what happened. Oh, and we were wicked wasted.

The wedding itself was great. I had the pleasure of escorting the cutest little girl in the whole world, Colie's sister, Katie. I think they arranged it that way so I could be the taller one (she's 10). They both said "I do" (though they were actually already officially married) and it was off to the reception. High fives were in affect for the whole cruise and let me tell you, we didn't use them sparingly. We did, however, get a little bored with it so instead opted for the "good game" if you know what I mean. Everyone seemed to like that as well. In fact, when I offered one of our favorite waiters a high five, he looked at me quizically, smiled slightly and asked for a "good game." Hey, ya gotta give the people what they want, and if they want a slap on the ass, I'm not above it.

For our shore excursion, me, Shock and the twins chose sea kayaking/snorkeling/beach party. It wasn't very much of a kayak, though, but more of a clear canoe. Needless to say it was a good time. Some things to note: guacamole is awesome, you get what you pay for when it comes to free drinks (stick to beer), and Cozumel taxi cab drivers are the craziest I've run into so far.

All in all, the cruise was amazing. I mostly remember having fun the whole time and genuinely enjoying being around everyone. There aren't many other dudes I would've had a more fun time with than Shock. Oh, and Colie and Jen, you're family and friends are absolutely priceless. If any of them are reading this, send me a quick email and let me know what you're up to
